What’s better than drinking a nice warm drink when it’s cold outside? How about a nice warm drink spiked with a little alcohol! While warm alcoholic drinks sound like gross drinks, there’s plenty to love about these delicious winter drinks. Winter is far from over, so take note!
Warm Alcoholic Drinks for the Winter!
Bourbon Chai Toddy
This drink is as fun as it is to say! It’s everything good about sweet tea and warm drinks… plus a little booze (or a lot, depending on whatever you want). It’s actually really easy. Just warm up some sweet tea and add a little bourbon with some bitters and you got yourself some winter drinks with a twist!
Fistful of Bitters
Speaking of bitters, how about a whole handful of them!? This Italian-inspired hot toddy mixes Averna Amaro and Cocchi Barolo Chinato. To make it even more Italian, it’s cleverly named after spaghetti-western ‘Fistful of Dollars.’
Hot Night in Normandy
This yummy sweet drink uses Calvados, which is an apple brandy right out of Normandy. To make it even more “apple-y,” add some warm apple cider. What ingredient best compliments the semi-sweet, semi-tart taste of apples? Cinnamon! With just a touch left of nutmeg, and you got yourself a Hot Night in Normandy (best enjoyed on a cold night).
Over the Weather
Are you just over this cold weather? Join the club! Luckily, we have some warm alcoholic drinks and a nice blanket to cuddle up to. This drink in particular calls for a mix of ginger, cinnamon, rosemary, and, the warmest ingredient of all, rum! If you like sweet and Earthy, make this your new special drink!
This one is basically just hard tea. Didn’t say there’s anything wrong with that though! When you take the sweet Moroccan mint tea and add the proper amount of alcohol, you get a warm, relaxing sipping-kind of drink you can share with a friend. Sure, alcohol warms you up enough as is, but add some hot tea, and it’s the perfect way to unwind and relax in the cold.
